East Lothian CLP is an active, campaigning local party, firmly embedded in local communities across the county.
We have been highly successful in recent elections, winning the East Lothian Scottish Parliamentary seat in 2016, the local elections on 4 May 2017 and then winning back the Westminster Parliamentary seat on 8 June 2017.
We are keen to encourage local supporters to get involved with this activity. The first step might be to join the party meaning you can get involved in our activities and we can keep in touch with you more easily.
There is also lots of campaigning activity to help out with, or you might want to start by attending a meeting of one of our local branches.
As well as helping to highlight Scottish Labour's campaigns at a local level, we also run our own local campaigns on topical issues. These have included campaigns against the SNP's call-in of the Inch Cape planning application at Cockenzie, the SNP Government's plans to centralise control of schools, their closure of Haddington court, council funding cuts, the attempted closure of Tranent police station and the closure of the Fire Service College in Gullane.
From leafleting your own street or helping with street stalls, to phone canvassing or speaking to people on the doorstep, there is plenty for members and supporters to help with, especially at election times.
If you would like to get involved with the campaign, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
