East Lothian Constituency Labour Party (CLP) consists of five branches: Tranent & District, Prestonpans & District, Dunbar, East Linton & District, Haddington & District, and North Berwick Coastal.

East Lothian is an active, campaigning CLP which fights for the interests of East Lothian and its residents. Over recent years we have campaigned against the SNP’s government’s closure of Haddington’s courts and local police stations, the long delay in delivering the new community hospital and its decision to call-in the planning decision on the former Cockenzie power station site. We have also campaigned for improvements to local rail services and against government cuts to local council funding.

Our local representatives include Martin Whitfield MSP and 10 councillors on East Lothian Council, making us the largest party group.

The party’s activity is co-ordinated and organised by an Executive Committee elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

We actively encourage the involvement and participation of local members and supporters in our campaigning and events.

Please get in touch if you would like more information about our work, how to get involved or to join Labour.
