Scottish Labour’s Deputy Leader Kezia Dugdale MSP has made her second campaign visit to the county, joining local candidate Fiona O’Donnell and a big team of supporters for canvassing sessions in Haddington.

Ms Dugdale, Ms O’Donnell and their campaign team spoke to hundreds of local people about Labour’s Better Plan for a Fairer Scotland and the choice facing the electorate on 7 May.

They found many previously undecided voters turning to Labour as they seek both a fairer Scotland and a guarantee that the country will not be plunged into a second referendum campaign.

Speaking after the campaigning session, Fiona O’Donnell said:

“It was great to welcome Kez back to the county again. I was delighted that she joined my team of campaigners in getting Labour’s positive message out to people in Haddington ahead of the election.

“With the polls still so close nationally, it is clear that local people understand what’s at stake in this election. They know that if they want a Labour government committed to a fairer economy, they have to vote for it on Thursday.

“A vote for anyone else in this election risks letting David Cameron and the Tories cling on to power. Another five years of the Tories would be a disaster for local people. Only a Labour Government can end austerity and deliver a fairer future for Scotland.”
