Norman Hampshire, one of the most experienced councillors in East Lothian, has been re-selected by local members as the party’s candidate in the Dunbar and East Linton ward for next year’s local council election.

Cllr Hampshire, who topped the poll at the 2012 election, has represented the Dunbar area on the Council for many years. He has also served as the Cabinet Spokesperson for Housing and the Environment over the last four and half years and is committed to continuing the party’s work to increase the number of affordable homes available to rent and buy across the County.

Cllr Norman Hampshire said:

“I have worked very hard to be a good representative for the Dunbar and East Linton ward and am honoured to have the opportunity to continue standing up for this area as one of its councillors. Dunbar has not been well served by the SNP locally or nationally and I will be fighting hard for our area’s interests in this campaign.

“As well as my local responsibilities representing the ward, I’ll also be leading our efforts to continue increasing the number of affordable homes available to rent and buy in East Lothian. We already have a better track record than the previous SNP administration, but I believe we can achieve even more if we’re re-elected next May.”
