East Lothian Labour
Scottish Labour Leader Kezia Dugdale has visited Raceland in East Lothian to emphasise the party’s message that it is in pole position to win here and in dozens of other constituencies across Scotland.
Ms Dugdale was joined at Raceland by the party’s local candidate Martin Whitfield. Labour finished second in this constituency in 2015, with the Conservatives trailing in a distant third place.
In the two elections since 2015, Labour has come in first place, beating the SNP and Tories at the 2016 Holyrood election and again in the local elections on 4 May. The party is best placed to defeat the SNP again on 8 June.
Speaking after the visit, Kezia Dugdale said:
“In East Lothian, Labour is in pole position to defeat the SNP on 8 June.
“There are two clear reasons to vote Labour on 8 June. First, our opposition to a second independence referendum, and second our positive plan to invest in public services to have the best schools and to invest the money we need into our NHS.”
