Local Labour Party members in East Lothian gathered in Haddington last Thursday for the official launch of Neal Black’s bid to be elected as the next councillor for the Haddington and Lammermuir ward.

Neal spoke eloquently about his desire to be a strong local voice for the ward, while Iain Gray MSP and Cllr Willie Innes also spoke in support of Neal’s candidacy.

Speaking after the launch, Neal Black said:

“I was very honoured to receive the support of Iain, Willie and so many other colleagues from across East Lothian at the launch event. Election campaigns are always a team effort and I know I have a first rate team behind me.

“My focus during this campaign will be on local issues that matter to people in the Haddington and Lammermuir ward. I will always stand up for the interests of the communities that make up the ward.”

Labour leader of the Council, Cllr Willie Innes, said:

“Neal is an excellent local candidate and we will be working very hard to help him become the next councillor for Haddington and Lammermuir. We will be highlighting our efforts to defend local services, support communities and boost the local economy and jobs, despite SNP government cuts to local authorities.”
