A recent fundraising evening organised by Haddington and District Branch Labour Party raised around £1000 to support its activities.

The event was held at the Town House and local party members and supporters from Haddington and other parts of the county were joined by Fiona O’Donnell MP and Iain Gray MSP, as well as Cowdenbeath MSP Alex Rowley. All three politicians spoke at the event, as did Haddington councillor John McMillan.

The successful event was part of the continuing development of the branch which has seen it expanding its campaigning activity and recruiting new members.

Speaking after the event, Gary McCormack, Branch Secretary, said:

“I want to thank Iain, Fiona, Alex, John and everyone else who supported the event. We had a fantastic evening and raised important funds to help our campaigning activity in the vital year ahead. We’re a welcoming and active branch and I hope that more local Labour supporters will consider joining us and getting involved.”
